MWI has been conducting Internet surveys for almost ten years. In hundreds of projects annually, we interview from client-supplied databases as well as panels of "opt-in" participants nationally, regionally and locally with specifically requested demographics and product usage.
One key to success in Internet surveys is knowing the availability and quantities of valid e-mail addresses within the demographic, product usage and geographic target audience you wish to interview, as well as the appropriateness of a sample consisting of only web-active respondents. If non web-active respondents are an important part of your target audience, then telephone surveying may be a better choice.
Another key is wether or not the survey can be handled as a self-administered questionnaire (which a web survey is), or if you need the "presence" of an interviewer to ask probing and follow-up diagnostic questions.
